Hotel Marina El Cid is 4-star all inclusive resorts at it's best! Located beachfront just a 20 minute beach walk from the little town of Puerto Morelos which is halfway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
Marina El Cid offers a great beach as well as tropical garden and vegetation surrounding the resort. The resort is part of the Puerto Morelos National Reef Park so the area surrounding, including the ocean, is protected under National Park protection to enhance and protect it’s beauty for guests for years to come. Because of this you’ll find a lot of natural areas around the resort.

Marina El Cid, besides having an expansive white sand beach, has an unbelievable 22,000 square foot pool with a huge cascade with diving pool and water slide. Kids also have a kids pool and water slide.
Marina El Cid is a very family friendly resort but there’s also an Adults Only silent area with comfy king size lounge beds and a giant Jacuzzi and that makes this a great choice for a friends all-inclusive vacation destination.
Puerto Morelos is an excellent area for deep-sea fishing and Marina El Cid has a private 120-slip marina so fishing is easy and close by! Marina El Cid offers non-motorized water sports on site and is located very close to a lot of the great Mayan Riviera attractions.
Marina El Cid offers guests 4 restaurants and 5 bars. This is a very family friendly all-inclusive so children will thrilled with the choices of food. Room service is included so that’s a bonus. Reservations required.
I think this is a great value all-inclusive and have had many guests love it and become repeat fans. The beach location, seclusion and safety of the area, great Mexican feel to the resort all make this attractive.
Platinum Club upgrade - is it worth it? You decide, Platinum guarantees you an ocean view. Your room is in a quieter section of the resort, mini bars in room, Butler Service, personal check in, pillow menu, Platinum Club lounge with snacks, food and drinks and internet available in the Platinum Lounge in the lobby.
As with any budget all inclusive I suppose, there are some not so great points also – hard beds (ask for a topper), rocky beach to ocean entry (bring water shoes), time share pitch (just say NO!), lots of kids (negative if you’re trying to avoid kids), slippery tiles in some areas around pool (I saw people slip – just be careful with wet feet), expensive spa treatments and poor internet connection (maybe it’s a signal to disconnect).
The pros of this all inclusive resorts are that it’s a great family friendly resort with a great price point. The location is great for deep sea fishing and the resort will cook up your catch for you, long sandy beach, good snorkeling area, gated, safe area, good rooms, clean and well cared for resort. I also like the variety of rooms - the resort even offers1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites for large families or groups.
Overall I thought this was a very good resort. I was unexpectedly impressed with the pool and beach area. I was not impressed with the timeshare people and learned quickly to spot them and just say no to avoid the bother. I think this would be a good resort for a group of couples or a group of couples with children as the facilities can support a group of a good size comfortably and economically.
