Very Special All Inclusive Resorts Charm

It's the beaches here and the quietness of the entire area that bring people back here year after year.  There are some areas of the beach entering the ocean that are rocky but there are clean sandy areas and once you’re in, it’s live with turtles and fish. The ocean is calm and swimmable. You’ll see Akumal Beach Resort comments like “a 3 star resort with a 10 star beach.”

The snorkeling is wonderful and if you plan to snorkel, you should bring your own snorkel gear so you can enjoy the water any time you like.  If you don’t bring your own, the resort has gear to rent but it’s older so buy your own.  In the water, you’ll see different species of rays, barracuda, various tropical fish, sea turtles and more. This beach is known for it’s snorkeling so it’s a great opportunity to be able to snorkel at your leisure.

Akumal is the “Place of Turtles” so you’ll see sea turtles and in the summer, they’ll be hatching right on the beach and you’ll be able to enjoy watching them hatch and make their journey back to the ocean – an amazingly touching experience!

As part of the back of the resort faces the jungle, you’ll also have a chance to see some local wildlife.

Dining – dining is not gourmet by any means but it’s good Mexican, American,  Italian and Oriental also.  There are a number of healthy choices and lots of seafood and fresh fruits which are my favorite of the area.  The liquor may not be top shelf as it’s domestic but if you slip down to Moonrise Bar which is part of the all-inclusive resort option but also open to the public, you can get bottled beer for $2.

Since you are farther down the Mayan Riviera and in a place that’s completely in touch with nature, you may encounter more mosquitoes at night and we recommend bringing bug spray with you.  Mosquitoes are everywhere but many of the larger all-inclusive resorts spray for them – here they don’t.  Bug spray and also after bite treatment is recommended (not just here but all over where there’s sand fleas also).

Akumal Beach Resort is located really close to many of the cultural attractions that make this area so popular such as Tulum, Coba, many cenotes, Rio Secreto, Playa del Carmen,  Xel-ha, Xcaret and more so if you want an all-inclusive resort option that’s got a fantastic beach, is laid back, friendly and close to the cultural attractions, you should really try Akumal Beach Resort.
