Royal Solaris Los Cabos Review
I have stayed at Royal Solaris Los Cabos many times over the last 8 years. I love staying in San Jose del Cabo and this resort definitely feels like it fits. It is a family owned quite traditional Mexican resort.
Accommodations are traditional Mexican with typical Mexican colored bedding. The mattresses and pillows are not high end but I have always found them very comfortable. Some rooms come adjoining. Rooms also have a Murphy bed so they are very comfortable for a family with great sleeping arrangements. All rooms feature private balconies. Junior Suites have the biggest balcony. Ocean front rooms have the best balcony and an absolutely amazing ocean view – you’re very very close to the ocean so in whale season, it’s the absolute best vantage point to watch the whales. Ocean view suites face the pool and ocean and the standard rooms without a specified view may be mountain view or a view to the outside of the resort.
The beach area is lined with lots of chaise lounges with almost all of them under the shade of a palapa which is great. Vendors hang out on this beach but they’re not a nuisance – actually more entertaining and take no for an answer quite well. The beach also has drink wait service so that’s convenient.
For breakfast there is a large buffet service which is excellent – fresh juices, fresh fruit, pastries, hot and cold main dishes, an omelet station as well fresh waffles. It’s a very good traditional Mexican buffet breakfast. For lunch the usual is the restaurant by the beach where I love the seafood selections the most but there’s a grill going also which means you can order some things made just the way you like it. Often the resort will set up a grill on the beach too which is great. Evening offers 2-3 restaurant choices some requiring reservations. The Italian restaurant is excellent and my absolute favorite dish there is the mushroom ravioli although every one I’ve ever had has been great. I also really enjoyed the Mexican restaurant.
The theatre on the lower level offers a show along with buffet dining almost every night. The dining themes change so there are different specialty options each night for those nights where you just want a quick bite to eat without reservations or want to try a special theme dinner. The food is good and fresh and hot and desserts here are usually a really great selection from the kitchen.
There’s also entertainment in the lobby bar every night – from performers to Karaoke nights.
The kids club is located on the outside of the property and offers a water park and indoor area and is very popular.
There is also an adults only pool and lounge area on the opposite side of the resort for those times when you’d rather be away from the crowd or the main pool.
The activity desk at the resort can help you arrange any tours or deep sea fishing that you would like to participate in during your stay.
Internet service is available for a fee and there are 3 computers in the business center where you can log on and connect for a fee also.
This is another great resort for those who enjoy a more traditional Mexican family style resort right on the beach in San Jose del Cabo.
