Location

The Palace Resorts Golf Club at Playacar is located south of Playa Del Carmen, approximately 10 minutes from the Aventura Spa Palace Resort and approximately 15 minutes from the Xpu-ha Palace.

Transportation

Round- trip transportation to the Palace Resorts Golf Club at Playacar from your Palace Resorts hotel is $20 per person. Our deluxe air-conditioned vans comfortably seat up to 10 golfers with their clubs. Once your tee time is scheduled, the Palace Resorts will arrange your transportation.

Palace Resorts All-Inclusive Cancun Package

The Palace Resorts Golf Club at Playacar is proud to be the first all-inclusive golf club in Mexico. In keeping with the tradition of Palace Resorts, any food and/or beverage consumed at the golf course by our guests is included in the green fee.

The beverage carts are stocked with sandwiches, chips, water, soft drinks, and beer. In addition, the 19th Hole our grill menu includes sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc., as well as all of your favourite alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Palace Resorts Pro Shop at Playacar

The Palace Resorts Pro Shop at Playacar is well stocked with quality, name brand merchandise. Ashworth, Izod, Tommy Hilfiger, Titleist, Maxfli, Callaway, EP Pro, Town Talk, and Imperial Headwear are just a few of the names that a golfer will recognize. The professional staff is available to assist you with any needs that might arise, including club repair, lessons, tournament preparations, and group outings.

Rules

1. In the interest of keeping up speed of play, the jungle shall be played as a lateral hazard. Balls lost in the jungle shall be played from within two club lengths of where the ball last entered the jungle with a one stroke penalty. Please, let faster groups play through.
2. All natural areas on the golf course property are to be played as lateral hazards. Please take care when playing from any natural area.
3. Out of bounds is defined by white stakes, or the inside curb of all roadways bordering the course. Any ball coming to rest on the opposite side of ponds on holes 2, 6, 7, 10, 11, 15, and 17 shall be considered out of bounds.

2007 Cancun Classic Golf Tournament

Place: Moon Spa & Golf Club and Playacar Spa & Golf Club
Date: October 10th, 11th & 12th, 2007
Practice: October 9th, 2007 (Reservation required)

Format: Two player scramble with Stableford Cancun Format, where 50% of the sum of the handicaps of both players is considered.

Team Handicap: The player with the higher handicap will be adjusted so that the difference between team members' handicaps does not exceed 18 strokes. The team's handicap will be calculated based on the callaway modified system.

Participants: All Palace Members and their invited Palace Guests, presenting an official index or a letter from the golf club they belong to, signed by the golf director.

Availability: 144 players (72 teams of two players)

Categories:
A) 50% of the sum of the handicaps of the team handicaps from 0-18
B) 50% of the sum of the handicaps of the team handicaps of 19 or more

Rules: The tournament will be based upon the rules and regulations of the US Golf Association that have been adopted by the Mexican Golf Federation and local rules. The committee reserves the right of admission, as well as making any required modification in the best interest of the tournament.

Icebreaker: Cocktail Party - October 8th, 2007 at 7:30 pm

Raffle: The raffle is offered by the sponsors only to players who attend the cocktail party. The prizes are tours and dinners.

Outings: By foursomes according to the following schedule:
October 10th: Playacar courses, tee times start at 9:00 a.m.
October 11th: Moon Palace Jungle to Lakes, tee times start at 8:00 a.m.
October 12th: Moon Palace Lakes to Dunes, tee times start at 8:00 a.m.

Ties: Ties will be decided considering the lowest team handicap. If the tie remains, a review will be done hole by hole, starting on hole 54.

Awards Dinner: October 12th, 2007

Registration costs: Individual $550.00 USD

Regulation: All participants, once registered, shall become familiar and accept the rules and regulations of this tournament including the regulations that apply for the Hole in One and Closest to the Pin contests.

Registration: It is essential to include the names of all participants, date and time of arrival, as well as the hotel they will be staying at, on the bank deposit form which is to be sent with the registration form.
