Arenas del Mar is situated on two beaches – Playa Espadillas and Playitas Beach.

At Playa Espadillas which is on the south side of the property the jungle runs right down to the beach.  You will enjoy the sand beach with rocky outcroppings and warm tide pools.  This beach is over  a mile long and connects to Manuel Antonio National Park.  The resort offers transportation to the beach area by the National Park and resort guests can use the washrooms at the Welcome Pavilion which is close to the entrance.

Playitas Beach is a cozy beach on the north side of the grounds which ends at Punta Quepos.  This beach area is often an area for clothing-optional sunbathing.  It is not in accordance with Costa Rican law to be nude or topless but this area of the beach is often where people go for privacy or to be “au natural”.

You will find a number of activities including white-water rafting, mangrove kayak and boat tours, guided rainforest hikes, ocean kayaking, sport fishing, canopy tours and horseback riding.  The resort activity desk can help with any arrangements you need.
