Cancun Palace Resort
For many years, the all inclusive Cancun Palace Resort has been a favourite all inclusive resort in Cancun for active guests wanting non-stop fun and activities. This newly renovated resort and new wide sandy white beach brought this resort back to its popularity. Flanked by the Caribbean Sea and the Nichupte Lagoon, the Cancun Palace is perfectly located just a short distance from all of the main attractions on the hotel zone. Cancun Palace has everything you need: new facilities, world-class amenities, large infinity pool with 2 swim up bars, kids club, water sports, land activities and more!
Cancun Palace is located very close to the Beach Palace and Sun Palace and has scheduled shuttle service also to the Moon Palace Golf & Spa Resort.
Testimonials of Cancun Palace
I wanted to take the time to THANK YOU for all that you did for us. Our vacation was what I call "heaven on earth". Cancun Palace was so beautifull I could not believe what I saw. The employees was so pleasant, easy to talk to, and very eager to please everyone, smiles and all. The weather was wonderfull, the water was so many shades of "blue", and the stars (including planet Venus) was fantastic. And the restaurants - wow - especially the Italian Restaurant. I recommend this place to everyone, and also Sunseekers.
Thanks again. Susan and Mike, October 2007
Hola Sharon,
We just got back from our wonderful vacation. I wanted to let you know that the hotel was amazing ~ thank you for your recommendation and for making the reservation. I was very happy with the accommodations, service and basically everything. We will be booking another trip with your agency in the future.

Good Morning Sharon!
I just wanted to send you a quick email and thank you for helping us book the BEST vacation EVER! The resort and our room were spectacular! The service was outstanding-even better than the last time we were there, which we thought was impossible to top. The food at the restaurants and outside grills was delicious, and would give our 5 star restaurants here in Minnesota a run for their money. Please feel free to use me as a reference if any of your customers would like feedback before booking a vacation here- it was worth EVERY cent!
Thanks again for all of your help booking this!

Hello Sharon! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you--Anyways--we had a FABULOUS time!!! No complaints what-so-ever!!! The weather was a little chilly (at least for me) the first couple of days. The resort was beautiful though! My boys LOVED it!! They did a lot of different things pool side to entertain the kids--it was nice to just sit there with a drink and watch. Very kid friendly!!! All of the restraunts were great except for the Mexican place. Go figure, huh? Oh well though--we didn't let it ruin our day. Just was a "note to self!" The Wet n Wild Waterpark was a BLAST!!! My younger son and I swam with the dolphins which was totally cool!!!! We are already looking forward to going again next year--we are thinking the Moon Palace this time!! Any in-sight on that place would be great! Talking with other guests at The Cancun Palace, we heard a lot of good things about the Moon. Maybe you could shop around for us a bit and check when they are having specials. We would like to go in December again. Thanks Sharon. Chat soon—Sheyenne

Sharon,
Here is my feedback. I'm not sure if you want this much detail but I am thinking of putting it up on TripAdvisor as well.
Let me know if you have any questions or if I missed anything.

Cancun Mexico 8/2/11 - 8/9/11
Arrival
Immigration- VERY slow. VERY long lines. It took us over an hour to get through
Customs - Same as Immigration, long lines took us almost an hour.
Lomas Travel airport transfers - Very nice people, no issues. On time for the hotel-->airport transfer.
Departure
No issues with check-in or security.
Cancun Palace -
Pros -
- Very nice beach and swimming area. I never had a problem getting multiple lounge chairs and umbrellas setup for me on the beach. We were not harassed very much by the "beach vendors".
- Rooms are comfortable and clean. We had 2 ocean-view rooms and the views of the ocean and hotel were very nice.
- Good location along the Cancun hotel strip.
- The Gym facilities are very good and not busy. Never had to wait on any equipment.
- Spa treatments were good (except the noise mentioned below). The women had manicures and pedicures, the men had massages. Even with less the one day notice the spa staff tried to accommodate. All our appointments were booked the night before the appointment.
Cons -
Nice place but definitely not a 4-star+ hotel. Hallways/Elevators are hot and loud. Some areas could use some maintenance. Make sure you do not get a room anywhere near and ice maker. 2 of the 7 mornings a hotel worker was filling bags of ice by pushing the button over and over and over..... AT 7AM!!
$1500 credit promotion is a joke. We had 2 rooms ($3000), we still had over $2000 in credit when we left. You can only use $300 towards the spa and there are very limited opportunities to use the "points". Only one of the tours we wanted to do was on their list. They have an upgraded wine list in all the restaurants. The wines range from $70-$125. Sounds good on the surface but the wines are really $6-$15 wines in the store. For a $125 UPGRADE I would expect access to much nicer wines. For $70 I would expect more than moving from a $5 table wine to a $6 upgraded wine.
The spa treatment rooms are next to the pool so during my attempt to have a relaxing massage I was rocked by the base from the pool entertainment.
The same food seemed to be served on all buffets. Lots of items to choose from but not much variety on a daily basis.
The restaurant food was mostly mediocre but we did have a few good dishes.
During the 8 days we were there we were never able to secure a reservation at the Teppanyaki grill. To make a reservation you were required to show up in person on the day you wanted at the Mercado restaurant between 11am and 3pm. If you were not in line by 10am you didn't have much of a chance. If you are on a tour during the day you have NO chance. This policy is a real joke.
Hot water is a challenge for the hotel. The temperature of the water cycled dramatically while taking showers. I first thought it was the shower but after experiencing it in both rooms I realized it was a hotel issue. One late afternoon there was NO hot water at all. When I called to ask why, I was told there was no problem in the hotel so they would send someone to my room. 30 minutes later when no one came I called again. This time they said the ENTIRE hotel was affected and they expected to have it restored within an hour. I'm not sure when it was restored since my entire family took cold showers so we could go to dinner at a reasonable hour.
Services
- Checkin - Only one of our two rooms was ready when we arrived. The second wasn't ready until between 5-6PM.
- Checkout - No one asked how my stay was. All they were concerned about was recovering the hotel card keys and wristbands.
- Restaurant Service - Very attentive. They want to please you. My 16 yr old commented he couldn't believe a waiter actually cared about him and made sure he had everything he needed.
- Bar Service - During the day they are VERY busy and have trouble keeping up. Especially by the pool. The service on the beach is reasonable once you get the servers attention.
- Vacation Planners - These people help you use your hotel credit or "points" as they call them. They are helpful once you find one who is not busy.
- Room Service - Limited menu but very fast (usually 20-30 minutes). The food was very good as well.
Tours/Excursions
- Diving - I booked this prior to arriving. We did 2 days of diving and everyone enjoyed it. Best value of the trip. If you want the details let me know.
- Xplor - About 1.5 hours from the hotel. Zip lines, Ranger driving, river swimming in caves. Good buffet. We had a great time. Would recommend it but expensive ($150/person) and not on the hotel "point" system.
- XelHa - About 2.5 hours from the hotel. Tubing, snorkeling, cliff jumping. Buffet was just OK. 2 of my kids got sick the night we returned. If you are a diver I wouldn't recommend this place since you get a much better experience elsewhere. The snorkeling is almost pointless since the thermoclines make it difficult to see underwater. There are lots of "optional" (extra cost) areas like snooba, swim with dolphins, and SeaTrek. Not worth the money and my family just sat around the last 2 hours waiting for the bus to leave.
- Market 28 - Shopping. Took the R2 into town. This place was eye-opening for my kids. Bought lots of "stuff", spent lots of money.
