Cabo San Lucas is known for it’s dependably hot, sunny weather year round and also for it’s amazing outdoor activities. If you plan on spending time in the city of Cabo San Lucas, one of the best all inclusive resorts nearby would be one of the sister resorts of Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas and Riu Santa Fe.
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas and Riu Santa Fe are located side by side ocean front on a great stretch of beach in the Medano Beach area. Guests of either resort enjoy amazing views of Los Arcos. Enjoy watching the fishing boats depart from the pier in early morning and return in mid afternoon. See the gray whales blow as they swim by on their way to Alaska. Watch the cruise ships docked in the bay. It’s a really great beach location.
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas has 642 suites consisting of Junior Suites which have garden views, ocean views and ocean front views. There are really no bad rooms at this Palace. Garden view rooms and Ocean view rooms are located in the same area of the resort with the only difference being the location (ground floors have obstructed view because of resort gardens). Ocean view suites are larger and have amazing balconies with locations that allow you to truly enjoy the view. The special rooms are the Jacuzzi Suites with ocean views and a large Jacuzzi located out doors – they’re truly beautiful suites but they book up very early!
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas offers 5 bars and 5 restaurants. The Palace Riu resorts really shine in food quality at their buffet restaurants. I think they’re the best buffets anywhere with a large selection of every type of food you could imagine.
Riu Santa Fe
Riu Santa Fe has 902 rooms which are also garden views, ocean views and also include an ocean view suite and ocean view Jacuzzi suite. Riu Santa Fe is built more back from the ocean so the garden view rooms have no view or location near the ocean. These garden view rooms make up the majority of the rooms at Riu Santa Fe. The suites are large and split level and the Jacuzzi suite offers a Jacuzzi on the balcony.
Choosing Between Two Great All Inclusive Resorts
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas is usually the more upscale, quiet all inclusive resort whereas the newer Riu Santa Fe is typically more of a party and groups resort. If you want lively and fun, choose Riu Santa Fe. If you want upscale, choose Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas.
Riu Palace guests enjoy exchange privileges with Riu Santa Fe guests but Riu Santa Fe guests cannot use the facilities of Riu Palace. An exception are the a la carte restaurants which can only be used by it’s own hotel guests.
Both Riu all inclusive resorts are located just a short taxi ride from the City of Cabo San Lucas where you can find anything you desire. Deep sea fishing at it’s best, ATV desert tours, Zip lines, whale watching (in season between December and February), swim with the whale sharks (in season) and shopping in a world class mall by the pier. There is truly something for everyone in Cabo San Lucas.
All Riu all inclusive resorts offer stocked in-room mini bar as well as a liquor cabinet with different liquors. Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas offers 24 hour room service for those mornings you want to relax on your balcony and enjoy the morning.
Riu Resorts all require reservations for dinner in their a la carte restaurants so it is important to make those reservations as soon as possible so you can enjoy them all!
