The brand new Secrets the Vine offers the ultimate vacation experience in adult only all inclusive resorts right on the white sandy beaches in Cancun.
Secrets the Vine offers as a part of it’s luxury all inclusive amenities personalized service, unlimited gourmet dining, premium wines and beverages, a world-class spa and top-notch accommodations.
I have stayed at Secrets the Vine and found it to be a really nice resort. Of course the adult only company at the resort was welcome as I was traveling with my husband. We found the rest of the guest to be quite varied: young married couples and middle age married couples made up the majority of guests.
One of the first things that I would note to potential guests is that this resort has a lot of steps and stairs – notably heading down to the lower level pool and the beach. There’s really only one way to get there and that’s open stairs. By open stairs, I mean sets of stairs with no railing. There is a wheel chair ramp tucked away toward the south end of the property and an elevator which is used by staff that takes them to the lower level but not really available to guests. As you enter the property the view of the lobby is gorgeous and there’s a large flight of stairs straight ahead but if you look to the left, there is a set of elevators to use.
I really loved the lobby – from the chic styling to the warm glowing fireplace, the wine tasting area, the coffee shop (which is extremely popular), the great open area lobby bar, the gift shop (which you have to walk through to get to the buffet restaurant) and of course, the buffet restaurant.
The food was excellent at the buffet restaurant. I find breakfasts wonderful at the good-quality all inclusive resorts and this is no exception. I love the fresh fruit and Secrets the Vine had a large variety of local and tropical fruits. Also on hand was a great selection of meats and breakfast dishes, pastries, pancakes, waffles, fresh donuts, fresh honey and wonderful baked ham. If eggs are your favorite for breakfast, enjoy them made just for you by the chef.
We spent days laying by the pool on the lower level. There you will find two pools – both great and both active but with lots of areas to just hang out. The beach is also right there so I loved to slip out to the beach for a long walk. A good resort must have good pools and a great beach and Secrets the Vine has both.
One really neat treat was around lunch every day the chef and staff came by the pools and brought out tastes of a number of dishes – canapés of all kinds, tastes of meats specially prepared, finger sandwiches, shrimp or prawns, frozen honey dew soaked in liquor and presented on a stick and much much more. Even if we had lunch, this was a fun treat.
I found drinks to be excellent and I did not find them watered down. The lobby bar prepared one of the best pina coladas I had in a long time.
There is also a Preferred Club quiet pool on the same level as the Spa and restaurants so if you are interested in having a quiet pool area you should consider Preferred Club.
I thought all of the rooms were very nice. The entry level Deluxe Ocean View room was excellent. The Preferred Club rooms are located on higher floors and each floor has it’s own concierge and lounge with premium drinks, canapés and continental breakfast plus other special amenities. If you are looking for a larger room, the Junior Suites are well worth the upgrade as they offer a substantial amount of additional space. The Honeymoon Suites are very special and they’re not just reserved for honeymooners! They’re available to anyone wanting an extra special room. This is the type of resort and type of room accommodations that you will truly enjoy spending time relaxing in your room in the morning and evening.
There are a number of dining options at Secrets the Vine and you’ll enjoy them. I will say my favorites were the more casual Olio and Sea Salt Grill. Olio was maybe the windiest location for a restaurant but the food was so good that we kept going back! Sea Salt Grill offered excellent sea food and was right by the pools so we ate there a lot. The sports bar also had one of the best fish tacos I’ve had in a long time!
An added bonus is complimentary internet access is available for those of us who like to keep in touch with work or home.
I really enjoyed Secrets the Vine – I thought the combination of pools and beach made it very desirable. I loved the adult only environment. I loved the newness of the resort. I found service to be very good. The only downside would be if you do not like stairs because there are a lot of them.
