Luxury All-Inclusive Resort - Secrets The Vine Review - November 11, 2012

Secrets The Vine is a brand new resort built on the beaches of Cancun.  This adults only all-inclusive resort is located right between Sandos Cancun and Hard Rock Cancun, right in the heart of Cancun.

My first impression of Secrets The Vine is very good.  The resort is very new, modern, and I would say somewhat minimalist in decor but still warm and inviting.  Many modern resorts lack warmth but this one is both modern and inviting especially when you see the beautiful fireplace in the main lobby area.

Secrets The Vine is located directly on the beach but it’s location on the hotel zone fronts a quieter street instead of Kukulcan Blvd so the resort is quieter front and back. This is a tall 28 floor building so views are great all around. Top floors are reserved for Privilege rooms which are quite large and offer concierge services, privilege lounge and an amazing view.

The Resort:

Secrets Resorts - all of them - are high quality all-inclusive resorts and this one is I think top of the line for the hotel chain.  Food is excellent and not in short supply.  One really great treat is right after lunch for those too lazy to get off their chaise lounge, the chefs come out and treat everyone to some truly great selections of food - from melon slices and watermelon soaked in tequila to marinated flank steak kabobs, sushi, desserts, pastries, fruit and more!  What a treat!!

There are a number of pools on the main pool level, one on the twelfth floor and one for the Privilege Club members all with plenty of chaise lounges around.

The beach area is great and wide and of course long so everyone at some point heads out to catch a bit of sun or take a dip in the ocean.

The lobby is home to a great lobby bar, a wonderful coffee shop, gift shop and the main and only buffet restaurant.

The main pool deck is home to a new concept restaurant - a Peruvian Sea Salt Grill is open from 11 am to 11 pm and it’s a fantastic addition.  Another favorite of ours is Olio Mediterranean Restaurant which is located poolside on Floor 12 serving great dishes like Tabouli, greek salad, lamb dishes and lobster as a special dish.

Secrets The Vine offers free WiFi throughout the resort and now as well, free phone calls to the USA which is a huge perk for many of us who like to keep in touch with home or work.  The Secrets Ap is a download available after you check in and makes your smart phone usage free.

The only down side I saw to Secrets The Vine is the stairs.  If you are not very mobile and willing to do a lot of stairs, this may not be the resort for you.  To access any pool you will have flights of stairs and there is no elevator down to the main pool or ocean area. If you need a handicap accessible resort this is not a good choice.

If you are looking for a very good, modern luxury adults-only all-inclusive resort, this is very good choice for you.
